HealthMy name is Joyce, and I am writing from a small town outside Houston, Texas, with a fear that never leaves my mind anymore. I never imagined I would be asking strangers for help just to stay alive, but I truly do not know what else to do.
A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer in my jaw. Doctors initially believed they had removed it. I went through surgery, pain, medication and months of recovery, holding onto the hope that my life would finally return to normal.
Then the pain slowly returned. My jaw began swelling more each week. I prayed that it was only inflammation or an infection, but the cancer had come back. This time, doctors told me it was spreading toward my brain.
The pressure and pain in my face can be unbearable. Eating has become difficult, talking exhausts me, and some mornings I wake up dizzy and weak. The swelling continues to grow, and I barely recognize myself in the mirror.
After years of appointments, scans, medication and treatment, I am financially exhausted. I have tried to continue working through the pain, but my body is reaching a point where it cannot keep going like this.
Doctors say I need urgent treatment and another major surgery to have a chance of stopping the cancer before it spreads further. Donations will help cover surgery, cancer treatment, imaging scans, hospital visits, medication, pain management, transportation and basic living expenses during recovery.
I am scared of what will happen if I cannot afford treatment in time, but I am still holding onto hope. Any donation can make a real difference. If you cannot donate, sharing my story or keeping me in your prayers means more than you know.
Please help me keep fighting. 💔
